Shopify Store Permission change required information

Please pass this notification on to whomever administers your Shopify Store settings. If you do not use Shopify in conjunction with Khaos Control Cloud you can ignore this message.

Please be aware that due to imminent API changes mandated by Shopify the permissions required for the Khaos Control application, as configured within your Shopify store, need to be updated.

Shopify are requiring the adoption of their 2022-07 API by April 2023. Within this API are some structural changes and permission changes surrounding Order Status / Shipping Confirmation and Fulfilment which will affect your Khaos Control Cloud integration with their platform.

To facilitate this an update to the Khaos Control Channel platform is planned for Wednesday 22^nd March 2023 at 10am (GMT), after which the new permissions will be required.

If these permissions are not updated by end of business on Tuesday 21^st March 2023, your Order Status and Shipping confirmation information will stop being sent up to Shopify from Khaos Control and will encounter errors returned by Shopify beyond our control.

The earlier this permission is applied to your Store(s) the less likely you are to encounter any issues.

To continue operating the permissions need updating as detailed below, the most recent and most important change for existing customers are the following two permissions:

read_merchant_managed_fulfillment_orders

write_merchant_managed_fulfillment_orders

How to edit your Shopify Store Permissions

You can find the permissions currently in use on your Shopify store for the Khaos Control application by navigating following these steps:

Log in to the Shopify admin panel
Go to the Settings area
Click the ‘Apps and Sales Channels’ section
Click the ‘Develop Apps’ link at the top
Click on the custom app that was created for Khaos Control
Go to the ‘Configuration’ tab
Click the Edit button within the ‘Admin API integration’ panel
Here you can set the permissions that the Khaos Control custom app will have access to
